No Idea

No Idea

I made it, now im heading downstairs

I finally made the grade to get in

Where I can join in the throng, we were told to belong

To be lost in the smoke, in the sweat, in the din

In the game, and these winners didn’t come here to lose

Its a deal, it’s the deal, it’s the offer that you don’t refuse

Ive got no idea how to dance to this beat but my feet were never given a choice

And I havn’t a clue what I’m doing in here while I’m waiting for my vision to clear

And if you won’t give away any words I should say if I wanted to hear your voice

Then I’ve got no idea but I’m not going home ‘till I’m holding my share of this night in the glare of the day

You break it, You can buy it from me

You send it down the line as I bite your hook

As I’m crossing the floor I know that you can be sure it’s too loud and too dark let’s do this by the book

but we didn’t come here to find a one-of a kind

We came to forget which way the sun goes round

We came to watch the moonlit girls as they wax and they wane, and my brain is sinking, its sinking deep in the sound

And I’m looking for a light to guide me ashore

As they drown, as they drown, Ii wonder if they ever asked for more?

Ive got no idea how to dance to this beat but my feet were never given a choice

And I havn’t a clue what I’m doing in here while I’m waiting for my vision to clear

And if you won’t give away any words I should say if I wanted to hear your voice

Then I’ve got no idea but I’m not going home ‘till I’m holding my share of this night in the glare of the day

Hold your lighter up and the moths in your mind will burn till only dust remains

Set yourself free, but now you’re free to indulge in all the trappings of your rusty chains

You’re free to go so deep underground that all the demons around you are gonna see you as you want to be seen

The face that you show in the glow of the bonfire, can’t hear you speak but can I hear you scream?

But in the back of my mind i’ve only come here to find you here my angel yet to open her wings

Instead I find the the kisses that curse you, the drugs that decieve you

The foes who ignore you and the fools who believe you

and even as they gather a crowd i’ll be asking out loud

I can’t dance but can you hear me sing?
